QUICK COMPACTER VERSION 1.0
This the latest version (as of 10/26/89) of Quick Compacter.
This stack will allow the user to compact one or several stacks
(hereafter referred to as the target stack) from a base stack. Quick
Compacter will also make a record of the target stack you have
compacted and the number of bytes saved in the process.
There are a several of problems that I have not been able to solve:
1. If the user has locked the stack in the Finder (located in the 'Get
Info' box), HyperCard will stop the Compacting process and leave the
user in the target stack. If this occurs, either quit HyperCard, unlock
the target stack and reopen Quick Compacter or simply return to
Quick Compacter and compact another stack.
2. If there is a problem with the target stack. If there has been an
error in opening the target stack or similar problem, HyperCard will
quit and you will be returned to the Finder.
3. If the target stack was created using a later version of HyperCard
than is now running.
THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE LIST OF PROBLEMS. USE THIS STACK AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I am continually trying to improve this stack. If you see an
error or bug, please inform me of it at one of the addresses shown
below. Also, if you have any ideas on features you would like
implemented, send me a message describing the idea.
Quick Compacter is released as shareware. If you find this
stack useful, after a ten day trial period, please send $10.00 or an
original stack you have created to the address below.
This stack may only be distributed free of charge. You may not change the
design of any Card or the content of any script without the written consent of
the author. It may not be used for commercial distribution without the written
consent of the author. This includes companies such as Educorp. The
distribution by BBS's (including GEnie and CompuServe) and
Macintosh User Groups is permitted and encouraged.
